Barbara Downer completed her training as a Forensic Document Examiner through the National Questioned Document Association of Dallas, Texas and the Questioned Documents Section of the American Institute of Applied Science. She utilizes the latest technical equipment in analyzing documents and signatures including a stereoscopic microscope, digital microscope, ultraviolet light, scanner and digital cameras.

She is board certified by the National Association of Document Examiners and currently serves as Membership Chairman of NADE. She previously served this organization as President, Secretary and Chief Journal Editor.   In addition, she was formerly employed with the City of Wichita Police Crime Lab and as a Juvenile Probation and Parole Officer in the state of Oklahoma.

Barbara recently completed the requirements to become an Professional Member of the Association of Forensic Document Examiners. She has specialized training in SCAN (Scientific Content Analysis), also known as Psycholinguistics.  The FBI, CIA, and police departments use SCAN to determine the truth or deception of a statement or confession.  She has a BA in Psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, OK.
